And the cheese continues!

Arrived in Wisconsin on Monday morning. After a 4 hour drive to Eau Claire, spent the rest of the day visiting my college campus and college town. Visted with one of my best friends in college (I was also his best man). His son is an amazing jazz pianist, currently in New York - and he himself is a very accomplished drummer.

Tuesday I traveled to the beautiful little city of Amery, Wisconsin to see my parents. My mom was just getting out of the hospital for some test, so my timing was good. Played cards with my dad and some of his friends at the apartment complex. My folks are 95 & 96 - and are doing pretty well on their own.

Wednesday morning I spent time fishing at some fishing holes I used to frequent in my teen years. No fish, but beautiful scenery and memories. (Quick fact - next to Florida, Wisconsin is the most frequently visited state for fishing in the US.)

This afternoon I am going to visit my old high school, and the place where I grew up. I hope to get some pictures up tonight.

One last quick fact - Wisconsin was originally spelled 'Ouisconsin' - French in origin. They changed it to a phonetic spelling - probably to accommodate the Germands, Swedish, Norwegian and Polish population.....
